Answers What is the difference between Power Office and Paperless One? Paperless One is Power Office plus the programming extensions and programming tools that make it a viable programming environment. Top What's the difference between Paperless One and P1? Paperless One and P1 are the same thing. P1 is simply a shorthand way of saying Paperless One. Top How is P1 Development licensed? P1 Development licensing requires standard a Power Office license plus a P1 Extensions Package that includes a dozen P1 development tools. Top How do we get trained and productive? Aestiva recommends you purchase a set of services that guides your team through your first project, from inception through delivery. The recommended services are as follows: HTML/OS Training - training in the HTML/OS programming environment. P1 Training - training in the P1 programming environment. Premium Support - intensive support while you build your first application. Annual Professional Support - standard development support. Top Do you rent Paperless One? No. Paperless One installs on your server -- whether it resides in-house or at your hosting provider. You pay a one-time fee plus optional annual support fees and/or fees for training. Top Can Paperless One forms look like my paper? Yes. The Paperless One forms can look like word-processing documents or they can look like spreadsheets. They can contain "header" inputs and one or more series of "line item" inputs. They look like paper but do a whole lot more since all the inputs defined on the forms are reportable using Paperless One's built-in reporting system. Top Can Paperless One forms store documents and file attachments? Yes. In these cases the electronic form behaves more like a "Control Document" that lists files associated with it. In these cases a file check-in and check-out process can be added to give the form greater power. Top Do I need to convert all my documents into Paperless One? Not at all. If a document needs to stay in Microsoft Word format, for example, it can simply be attached to a Paperless One form in the same way one would attach files to an email. Top Can Paperless One integrate with other systems? Yes. The Paperless One system is an "open architecture" system. Data can be exported using built-in wizards. And data can be exported/imported in real-time with file push/pull techniques by using the Aestiva Exchange utility. Top Can Paperless One forms work with other Paperless One forms? Yes. For example, a link on a Paperless One form can be used to create and/or pass information to another Paperless One form. Paperless One tools can be used to take information from a selection of forms and use it to create a new form. At other times, a single Paperless One form might be split into multiple Paperless One forms. Top Do you support Active Directory and/or LDAP? Paperless One installation can integrate with Active Directory (AD), LDAP, as well as custom-made authentication schemes. Top Can Paperless One systems drive hand-held devices? Yes. Electronic forms can be reduced in size, and for smaller hand-held devices, an external system called Aestiva TouchTop is available for capturing input. Top Can Paperless One be used "off-line?" Yes. Users can fill out spreadsheets off-line and upload them into Paperless One. Top Do Paperless One forms deliver email notifications? Yes. Paperless One can be configured to alert users via email when they need to approve and/or review a form, when they need to take an action on a form, and/or when they are invited to collaborate on a form. Top How do Paperless One forms manage people going on vacation? Paperless One includes a "Proxy" capability whereby users can access the accounts of other users provided they have been given the authority to do so. In these cases an audit trail is kept that logs all activity so there is no confusion regarding who did what. Top Do you have a reporting module? Yes, an advanced reporting module is included with all Paperless One solutions. The module allows you to create an unlimited number of reports and provide different users access to those reports. Top How does your reporting system compare to other reporting products? It compares well because it is easy-to-use, powerful and integrated. Unlike external reporting systems, the integrated reporting system has access to user-security information and data in the Paperless One environment. Reports can be automatically limited based on a user security detail, and options can utilize data stored inside Paperless One. Top Is it easy to export reports? Yes. All reports include a "single-click" export option. Reports can be exported to spreadsheets, files, and/or they can be printed. Top Are menus in Paperless One easy to load? Yes. All pull-down menus in Paperless One include back-end wizards for loading data. Manual options are also provided. Top Can I use Paperless One for compliance issues? Yes.
